Five Cannabis
Brand Identity & Packaging Design for a Cannabis Brand
Project Overview
Five Cannabis is a modern cannabis brand developed for a competitive and rapidly evolving market. Brainbox was commissioned to create a distinctive brand identity and a bold packaging system that feels contemporary, recognizable, and premium—while remaining flexible across multiple product variations.
The objective was to build a brand that stands out visually on shelves, feels confident and artistic, and connects with a design-aware audience.
The Challenge
Cannabis branding is highly saturated, often relying on similar visual tropes. Five Cannabis needed an identity that:
Feels modern and memorable
Differentiates clearly from competitors
Works across multiple product types and SKUs
Balances bold visuals with clarity and legibility
Extends naturally into merchandise and marketing
The brand needed a strong concept at its core—not just decoration.

Logo Design
The Five Cannabis logo is built around a clever typographic transformation.
The key idea behind the logo is that the letter “V” in the word “Five” is treated as a Roman numeral “V” (five), emphasized by top and bottom horizontal elements. This subtle structural change turns the letterform itself into a symbolic representation of the brand’s name.
Key logo characteristics:
The letter V doubles as the Roman numeral five
Minimal top and bottom strokes reinforce the numeral form
Clean, modern typography for strong legibility
A mark that feels intelligent, intentional, and timeless
This approach allows the logo to communicate meaning through form rather than illustration, giving it a refined and concept-driven identity.
Packaging Design
The packaging system was designed to be bold, expressive, and shelf-dominant.
Packaging highlights include:
Strong color differentiation for product variants
Clean label layouts with clear hierarchy
A balance between playful forms and premium structure
Packaging that photographs well for marketing and digital use
Each product feels part of a cohesive system while remaining visually distinct.
Brand Extensions & Merchandise
The identity was extended beyond packaging into:
Apparel and merchandise
Promotional visuals
Lifestyle brand applications
This ensures consistency across physical products, marketing, and brand storytelling.
